Lorain County High School Student Charged After Texting Himself a Warning About School Shooting

April 10th,2024-CLEVELAND, Ohio – A high school was placed on lockdown, and a student was criminally charged after he sent a text message to himself that warned of a school shooting, according to the Lorain County Sheriff’s Department.

The incident happened at Columbia High School located at 14168 Columbia West River Road in Columbia Station. A student reported to a teacher that he received a text message warning him to stay home because a school shooting would happen sometime during the week, authorities said.
