Lorain Schools Board of Education Receives Updates on Funds for Wraparound Services

LORAIN, Ohio-Valerie Timko, federal programs and grants specialist for Lorain City Schools, presented on June 26 to the Board of Education about the Student Wellness and Success Funds (SWSF) program. This initiative, established by Gov. Mike DeWine and the Ohio General Assembly, distributes state funds to nearly 1,000 districts statewide. Part of the Future Forward initiative by the Ohio Department of Education, SWSF aims to help students in overcoming learning obstacles, accelerating learning, and improving future readiness. The funds are utilized for implementing wraparound services to support student wellness and success.
