Madelyn Bell Makes a Splash this Season

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio-Madelyn Bell, a sophomore at Jackson-Milton High School, is the sole swimmer on the team, coached by Terry Patterson. With 11 years of swimming experience, Madelyn is a two-year letter winner. Initially nervous about the season, she dedicated extensive time to practice, leading to increased confidence as the season progressed.

Her goal was to qualify for districts, which she achieved by placing 9th in the 50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke at sectionals, setting a personal best in the 50 freestyle. At districts, she performed well, placing 22nd in the 50 freestyle and 15th in the 100 breaststroke, also achieving her best time in the latter event. Reflecting on her season, Madelyn felt gratified by her hard work paying off and is already planning improvements for the next season, approaching it with optimism.
