MEDINA TOWNSHIP, Ohio-A tragic event unfolded in Ohio when Charles Alexander, 43, abducted his 7-year-old daughter on her birthday after being denied access at her school. Not having custody rights, Alexander forcibly took the child from her grandmother’s house, hitting a woman with his truck while fleeing. The incident prompted a statewide Amber Alert. Following failed negotiations, during which the young girl was heard making heartbreaking statements in 911 calls, a member of the Ohio State Highway Patrol Response Team “neutralized the threat.” Alexander was pronounced dead at the scene, while his daughter was safely rescued and returned to her family. Sheriff Grice noted that Alexander had a history of mental illness.
