MANSFIELD, Ohio-The Mansfield City Schools Board of Education held a special session on November 7, 2024, where they accepted Treasurer Barb Donohue’s resignation, with a 4-1 vote, despite only serving for six months. Interim Treasurer Judy Forney and Tacy Courtright preceded Donohue. The board then unanimously approved Jennifer Hedrick, current treasurer of the North Central Ohio Educational Service Center, as the new interim treasurer. Hedrick will be the district’s fourth treasurer this year, with a compensation arrangement of $911.42 per day plus mileage. Board member Jennifer Kime stated the resignation was not related to the district’s levy and expressed hope that the board would conduct a broad search for a permanent replacement. She also mentioned ongoing disagreements over health insurance contracts with Donohue that contributed to the resignation.
