MEDINA, Ohio-The Medina Board of Education has selected a contractor for renovations at Heritage Elementary School, which will house the district’s Helping Hands Preschool next year. The bid came in under the expected estimate, allowing for the creation of individual classrooms with attached bathrooms in the open-concept layout of Heritage Elementary.
The base bid includes 10 classrooms, with an alternative option for two additional classrooms, funded by sales tax funds. To ensure completion this year, the district shifted funds from other projects, such as roofing and paving. Additionally, the Medina Athletic Booster Club donated $4,300 to the athletic department for new folding chairs, complementing a previous donation from the student council for chair replacements.
