Mercy McAuley Names Matt Schardine as Its New Head Volleyball Coach

COLLEGE HILL, Ohio-Mercy McAuley High School, the reigning Division II state champion in volleyball, has appointed Matt Schardine as its new head varsity volleyball coach. Schardine, who has been part of the school’s coaching staff since 2019, brings extensive coaching experience from various Cincinnati schools, including Mother of Mercy and St. Xavier High School.

He succeeds former head coach Sam Gagnon, who resigned in January 2024. Mercy McAuley’s athletic director, Sierra Millar, expressed excitement about Schardine’s appointment, citing his passion, skills, and enthusiasm for the program. The school looks forward to an exciting 2024 volleyball season under his leadership.
