Middle Schoolers Compete for Scholarships in Annual Campus Math Competition

MARION, Ohio-Middle school students from six schools visited Marion Technical College and The Ohio State University at Marion for the annual Math Challenge on May 2, testing their math skills. The top performers among 145 competitors were awarded $13,500 in scholarships to attend either Ohio State Marion or Marion Technical College.

Dr. Gregory S. Rose, dean of Ohio State Marion, emphasized the importance of strong math skills for future success, while Dr. Ryan McCall, president of Marion Technical College, highlighted the opportunities in science and technology careers. Scholarship winners included Delia Messaros, Mira Taylor, Chayton Stiles, Liam Cahall, Oliver Schmelzer, Lily Hall, Wyatt Roby, Nevin Zerby, and Lane Johnson, representing various middle schools and grades.
