Mike Davis Released From Prison After Serving 4-Year Sentence

LORAIN, Ohio-Mike Davis, a former meteorologist at 10TV, was released from prison after serving four years for pleading guilty to four counts of pandering sexually-oriented material involving a minor. He initially faced a much longer sentence but was sentenced to a minimum of four years.

Authorities received a tip in 2019 about his email account’s activity, leading to his arrest for downloading and emailing child sexual abuse images to himself over seven years. Davis apologized at his sentencing, acknowledging his actions had no excuse. His lawyer argued for therapy instead of prison, citing Davis’ mental health issues, but the judge imposed the prison sentence, emphasizing the harm caused to the victims. Davis will be required to register as a Tier II sex offender for 25 years.
