MILFORD, Ohio-Milford Exempted Village School District’s 1% earned income tax proposal failed, leaving the district facing significant budget challenges. Superintendent John Spienser warned of “drastic cuts” to cover operational costs, including splitting neighborhood elementary schools into K-1, 2-3, and 4-5 grade groups, eliminating bussing for high school students within a 2-mile radius, potential increases in pay-to-play sports fees, and staff cuts of 30-40 positions, including Title 1 specialists.
