Missing 8-day-old infant girl found safe, Columbus police say

An 8-day-old infant reported missing has been found safe, Columbus police said. Police said Monday night that the infant was last seen on Friday in the area of Champion and Stewart avenues with her 30-year-old biological mother. Police said the mother did not have custody of her child.

The infant has health concerns and was believed to be in danger when police sent out the missing persons alert. Police said the child is “safe and doing well” and was found with her mother on Columbus’ East Side.
