CINCINNATI, Ohio-Starting in 2025, Mount Notre Dame High School students will have the opportunity for automatic admission to Xavier University through a new “direct admission” program. Students will be guaranteed a spot at Xavier as long as they meet certain academic and admission criteria, though the specific requirements were not disclosed. In addition to guaranteed admission, qualifying students will receive a $1,831 merit scholarship, similar to an agreement Xavier has with St. Xavier High School. The initiative aims to reduce stress, improve affordability, and provide certainty for students’ future college plans. Mount Notre Dame, an all-girls school in Reading, has about 700 students and was founded in 1860 by Belgian immigrants.
