TOLEDO, Ohio-Angie McClue, an art teacher at Woodward High School, discovered her passion for art later in life while studying at the University of Toledo. Initially pursuing elementary education, she shifted to art, inspired by a professor who helped her realize its potential to impact students’ lives. During National Arts in Education Week, McClue has been teaching her students various art concepts and techniques, emphasizing art’s role in enhancing creativity, technical skills, and its integration with other subjects like history and science. She believes art education not only boosts confidence and provides a constructive outlet but also prepares students with valuable skills sought by employers, such as problem-solving and teamwork.
