Dayton’s students who can’t attend school due to behavioral issues — plus students who have been suspended — will be sent to a new Dayton Public Schools alternative school on the West side this coming school year. Jackson Center, located at 329 Abbey Ave., Dayton, was used as a space for several departments to work in the last school year. It was previously used as a school and has some repair work before it can be used as a school again, according to DPS business manager Marvin Jones. Jones asked the board for $75,000 to close one of the wings and make the building safer and make the cafeteria a place for students to eat school breakfast and lunch.
