CINCINNATI, Ohio-Edward Murray, 23, has been indicted and charged with murder, felonious assault, and child endangering following the death of 21-month-old Kareem Keita in Westwood. Paramedics found Keita unresponsive on May 2 with severe injuries including skull fractures, rib fracture, liver lacerations, and brain swelling.
The child died three days later, and autopsy results confirmed the death as a homicide due to violent impacts. Murray, who had been dating the child’s mother, was alone with Keita on the night he died and admitted to throwing him against the wall. Murray’s defense attorney argued against his confession, claiming trickery, while the prosecution emphasized the severity of the crime and the need for justice. Murray faces life in prison if convicted.
