No Wrongdoing Found for Delta Principal who told Student to Remove Pants During Search, District says

DELTA, Ohio-The Pike-Delta-York Local School District concluded its investigation into an incident at Delta High School and found no wrongdoing by Principal Doug Ford, who was accused of strip-searching a student in October. The student’s mother, Tiffany Sargent, claimed that Ford instructed her son to remove his pants after he allegedly hid a cellphone in his waistband. According to the district, the incident began when the student, who had been caught using his phone in class, lied about not having a phone on him. Ford then used a metal director wand, which detected the phone, and asked the student to drop his pants, revealing the phone. Sargent argued that her son should not have been asked to remove his pants without an adult or her being present.
