COLUMBUS, Ohio-A family’s summer camping trip at Alum Creek State Park in Delaware County, Ohio turned tragic when an 8-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 12-year-old boy. The incident occurred after the girl asked to play at a nearby playground with other children. When her parents briefly looked away, she disappeared. They found her later on a path with the boy and another younger girl. The mother reported the incident to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and took her daughter to Nationwide Children’s Hospital. The girl has since experienced nightmares, bedwetting, and other trauma-related symptoms. The mother decided to share their story to warn other parents about potential dangers. As of the report, no charges had been filed, and the case was under investigation by ODNR in cooperation with the Delaware County Prosecutor.
