COLUMBUS, Ohio-Ohio Representatives Andrea White and Bride Rose Sweeney announced the passage of House Bill 338, aimed at ensuring consistency in how courts award child support in divorce cases for children with disabilities who are unable to support themselves after turning 18.
The bill seeks to address inconsistencies in rulings across the state by clarifying that child support can extend beyond age 18 for children with disabilities, regardless of the timing of their parents’ divorce. It allows for both initial support awards and modifications if support levels change.
