Ohio mother charged with felony child endangerment after baby hospitalized with possible brain injury

A Steubenville, Ohio woman is in custody on felony child endangerment charges after her 1-month-old baby was taken to the hospital with a possible brain injury.

According to the Herald-Star, 20-year-old Shayla Oxley was booked into the Jefferson County Jail on a felony charge of endangering children and a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence.

Her bond has been set at $100,000, either cash or surety.

Steubenville Chief of Police Ken Anderson reported that the infant was brought to the emergency room at Trinity Medical Center West by Oxley and a family friend.
