April 3rd, 2024-CLEVELAND-Ohio-A 17-month-old baby named Waylon Price was injured during a police raid in Ohio, which his mother, Courtney Price, believes was intended for the home’s previous tenant. Waylon is currently hospitalized in Cleveland due to injuries sustained when flash-bangs were deployed during the raid. Courtney Price stated that smoke surrounded her son during the raid, but she was unable to assist him as she was taken into custody. Waylon, who has pre-existing medical conditions, suffered chemical pneumonitis and burns from the incident. The raid occurred around 2:15 PM on Wednesday at a residence on Parmely Avenue.
The Elyria Police Special Response Team conducted the raid based on a search warrant related to an ongoing investigation. Despite claims of lack of medical attention, police stated that the child was examined and found unharmed at the time. Courtney Price and her aunt, Redia Jennings, assert that officers have mistakenly targeted their property multiple times in search of the previous tenant. Courtney Price seeks acknowledgment and an apology from the department for the mistake.
