Ohio Valley Students Combine Physics And Fun at Disney World

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -Twenty-four fourth-grade students from Wells Academy are heading to Walt Disney World next week, combining physics with fun as part of the Disney Imagineers Club. Coordinated by teachers Katie Mills, Jen D’Ortenzio, Heather Koehnlein, and Heather Davis, the club meets weekly for Disney-themed STEM lessons.

The trip from May 5-10 will include visits to the Disney Imagination Campus, where students will explore the mechanics behind the park’s attractions and learn about animal care at the Animal Kingdom. Fundraisers have helped cover the costs, including a summer Disney Camp and a Jr. Imagineers program for younger students. A “Clap Out” event on May 2 will cheer on the departing students before their adventure in Florida.
