Parents push for safer crosswalk at Powell intersection after close calls: ‘Somebody is going to die’

Parents and residents voiced safety concerns Thursday at a tense town hall over a busy intersection in Delaware County that has seen multiple crashes and close calls involving pedestrians and school children. The Ohio Department of Transportation said there have been eight reported crashes in the last five years at state Route 750 at Wellington Boulevard and Verona Drive. Among them was a close call in August, when resident Amber Nolan’s son was nearly struck while crossing. Just two weeks ago, another crash involved a school bus. There were no reported injuries, but the incidents continue to fuel concern.
