COLUMBUS, Ohio-Columbus police are seeking community assistance in solving the murder of 16-year-old Marquelis Barnes from a 2017 case. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. in late June 2017, stemming from a fight that escalated into gunshots. Initially, police discovered one shooting victim at the BP James on Main Street in the east side of Columbus. Approximately an hour later, Marquelis Barnes, the second victim, was found nearby and pronounced dead at the scene.
