CRESTON, Ohio-Aiden Rodstrom, a senior hurdler from Rootstown, secured his spot at the state meet by diving over the finish line in a dramatic final push, edging out his competitor by three hundredths of a second. Despite sustaining cuts and bruises,
Rodstrom’s determination paid off as he secured the fourth and final automatic qualifying spot. Although he later discovered he didn’t need the dive, Rodstrom wasn’t willing to leave anything to chance in his last opportunity to qualify for states. Reflecting on his journey, Rodstrom recalled battling back from injury last year and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to prove himself this year.
