The Salem Police Department is investigating the death of an approximately 5-month-child that occurred Sunday.
Salem Police Chief J.T. Panezott told 21 News that officers were called to the 300 block of West Pershing in city around 1:02 pm.
The chief told 21 News officers are investigating what the department is calling a suspicious death. The chief also said no one is in custody, which is an active investigation.
