VANDALIA, Ohio-The Vandalia-Butler City School District has reached an agreement with the city of Vandalia, leading to the dismissal of a lawsuit filed in April. The lawsuit stemmed from a disagreement over the sharing of tax revenue from the Community Reinvestment Area.
The settlement, totaling $4.35 million, will be paid in installments over two years. The school district received $1.35 million last month and will receive an additional $500,000 by July 1, 2024. The remaining $2.5 million will be paid in two installments of $1.25 million each, scheduled for April 1, 2025, and April 1, 2026. Additionally, the agreement establishes a new threshold for tax sharing between the school district and the city.
