HIGHLAND, Ohio-The Cassner Foundation Scholarship, established by Mr. and Mrs. Alvin B. Cassner, awards six $3,500 scholarships annually to Highland County High School seniors, renewable for four years with a maintained GPA of 2.0. Recipients are selected based on academic achievement, personal qualifications, and goals. Finalists undergo interviews by a screening committee.
This year’s recipients include Claire Ames, planning to major in biology at the University of Cincinnati; Haydon Barrera, pursuing engineering at Ohio University; Garen Ryan, majoring in history at Wilmington College; Sydney Hooper, studying business management at Wilmington College; Brya McClain, pursuing biology at Ohio Christian University; and Hunter Miller, majoring in aerospace engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
