SPRINGFIELD, Ohio-Springfield Local Schools paid tribute to Donald Dyce, a former student and Vietnam War veteran who lost his life during the conflict. Dyce, who received two Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart, was honored with a memorial plaque unveiled during a ceremony attended by members of his family and Springfield Local High School Alumni.
Dyce’s nephew, Don Fuller, expressed gratitude for the community’s support and hoped the plaque would provide a lasting remembrance of Dyce’s sacrifice, serving as a personal connection for future generations learning about the Vietnam War. Dyce, a graduate of Springfield Local High School in 1968, was drafted into the US Army at 18 and died in October 1969 from enemy action.
