PARMA, Ohio-The Parma City School District is calling for community support to aid students and families facing increased challenges due to an influx of refugee students and financial difficulties. To address these needs, especially amid inflation and rising costs, the district is hosting a school supply drive during the Tax-Free Weekend. The drive, part of the We Are Parma Proud’s Picnic in the Park event at Ridgewood Lake Park, aims to “Stuff the Bus” with essential supplies for students. Megan Cooney, an admin specialist with the district, emphasizes the importance of this initiative for easing the financial burden on families.
