TWINSBURG, Ohio-At the Suburban League National Conference meet at Twinsburg, three senior track athletes showcased their potential motivations for the state track meet. Will Stack from Wadsworth aims for redemption after missing last year’s state meet, Ben Shabino from Hudson strives for a state title, and Jayla Atkinson from Stow defends her state title in the 800 meters while also eyeing gold in the 3,200-meter relay.
Atkinson, along with teammates Deena Ingrassia, Danzi Jones, and newcomer Ava Perrotta, displayed promising form, winning the 3,200 relay with the second-fastest time in school history. Stack clinched victory in the long jump, while Shabino triumphed in the discus, both setting personal bests. Shabino, motivated by competition, aims for gold in the discus and a berth in the shot put event at the state level, driven by his desire to excel.
