LIMA, Ohio-The Lima City Schools Free Summer Lunch Program has started, offering free grab-and-go lunches to children up to 18 years old through the Spartan Lunch Express. The program makes stops at three City of Lima parks, providing meals like chicken sandwiches and uncrustables with fruit and milk. Families have welcomed the service, appreciating the convenience and nutritional benefits. The program runs Mondays through Thursdays from June 3rd to July 25th, excluding July 4th, with eat-in meals available at several elementary schools and take-and-go meals at designated park stops. Additionally, shelf-stable meals are provided by the Children’s Hunger Alliance at local apartments.
