LIMA, Ohio-At Lima West Middle School, teachers used an engaging approach to teach scientific principles by incorporating the game of “Tug-of-War.” Students participated in hands-on activities to understand balanced, unbalanced, and net forces, applying mathematical concepts to determine force distribution after each game.
The teachers emphasized the importance of interactive learning experiences, stating that middle school students particularly benefit from hands-on activities. Following the game, students will apply the learned concepts in future classroom lessons.
