AKRON, Ohio-A 19-year-old male riding a Yamaha motorcycle was killed in a collision with a Toyota Sienna van in the Wallhaven neighborhood. The accident occurred when the van turned onto South Hawkins Avenue from Edgemoor Avenue, intersecting with the motorcycle’s path.
The teen, wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced dead at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Medical Center. The driver of the van, a 50-year-old woman, and a 15-year-old passenger were unharmed. Alcohol was not a factor, but the role of speed is yet to be determined. The incident is under investigation by the police.
