On Dec. 14 an officer watched a driver go by at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was conducted as the driver was going 54 mph in a 25 mph zone.
After speaking with the driver, it was discovered the 16-year-old had no valid driver’s license. The passenger was a 17-year-old, who allowed the 16-year-old to drive the car.
The parents of the three other teenagers in the car were contacted to pick up their kids. The 16-year-old Avon Lake resident was charged with speed, no driver’s license, operation in willful or wanton disregard, and probationary license restrictions.
