Teen gets 4 years for Shooting into air Outside Heights High School, Other Crimes

CLEVELAND, Ohio-The Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office is protesting the sentencing of a 15-year-old who shot into the air outside Heights High School after a basketball game. The juvenile was sentenced to four years at the Ohio Department of Youth Services by Judge Anne McDonough. The prosecutor’s office released the teen’s criminal history, which includes multiple offenses such as carjacking a DoorDash driver, pointing a gun at teenagers, and carjacking an elderly couple, among others. The juvenile has faced at least 18 charges between the ages of 13 and 15. Previously, at age 14, he was given a suspended sentence and probation, but continued to commit crimes, leading to his current sentence for the shooting incident at the high school. The prosecutor’s office highlighted concerns about decisions made in juvenile court.
