MANCHESTER, Ohio-A tragic incident occurred in Manchester where 17-year-old Miguel Quezada, a student at Manchester High School, lost his life after being swept away by flash floods on Saturday. Quezada was with three friends near the Island Creek Bridge on U.S. 52, where he fell asleep in a truck while his friends went fishing.
The flash flood water swept the truck away while Quezada was still inside. Despite efforts to rescue him, Quezada did not make it out of the truck. His body was later recovered once the water receded. The Manchester Local Schools Superintendent expressed condolences and announced that counseling services would be available for students in the wake of the tragedy.
