April 11th, 2024-CLEVELAND, Ohio-Timmeka Eggleton, a 31-year-old Cleveland mother, faced charges including aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault, and endangering children for the death of her three-year-old son, Curtis Witcher. Witcher was found unresponsive in a stroller near E. 79th Street and Euclid Avenue and was pronounced dead at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital on June 14, 2023.
His death was ruled a homicide due to blunt-force trauma. Eggleton was taken into custody several days later. The jury trial scheduled to begin Wednesday has been continued with no new trial date set. Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Michael O’Malley expressed sorrow for the tragic incident.
