WESTLAKE, Ohio-A Westlake mother, 32-year-old Domonique Knowles, faces potential jail time after leaving her three children home alone for nearly three days while she traveled to Florida. Knowles monitored her children remotely through security cameras and Facetime, but did not provide them with a phone. The situation came to light when a concerned teacher requested a welfare check after one of the children reported communicating with their mother online. Police found the apartment in poor condition, with a hazardous environment, and noted that one of the twin girls slipped and fell during their visit. Prosecutor Michael Maloney expressed shock at the neglect, emphasizing that Knowles had lied to her mother about leaving the children unattended and had not sought available help from family.
