Career Centers in Appalachian Ohio Receive big Grants to Expand Services

ATHENS, Ohio-Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Faculties Construction Commission announced $88 million in grants for 11 career centers in Appalachian Ohio. The grants aim to enhance facilities and support workforce development. Buckeye Hills Career Center, serving both high school students and adults, is among the recipients planning to expand healthcare training, including a new dental hygiene program to address local needs. Another beneficiary, New Lexington City Schools, will use funds to build healthcare facilities and a school-based health clinic, aiming to prepare students while serving the community. The grants require construction completion by December 2026.
