CAHS Alumna Champions Future Leaders Through Young Chefs Academy

Thirty years ago, a young Rochelle Mayo-Barrett discovered her passion for cooking during her Franklin Middle School home economics class. To this day, the familiar warm scent of snickerdoodle cookies infused with cinnamon spice and vanilla extract bring back memories that helped shape the person she is today. Since then, the Columbus Alternative High School (CAHS) graduate has several impressive titles added to her resume. She’s now known to many as a mentor, a mother, a chef, and now an entrepreneur.
