CLEVELAND, Ohio-Cleveland Heights High School will be closed on Friday after a student was found with a loaded gun on campus on Thursday. The student was taken into custody, and this incident marks the second occurrence of a student with a loaded firearm at the school that week. Following an earlier arrest on Monday, the district decided to close the school for a “calamity day” to review security measures. The school will reopen on Monday with additional support for students and staff, and all students will undergo metal detector searches. Other district buildings will remain open.
