LIMA, Ohio-Lima City Schools launched their first family literacy event of the year, “Reading Under the Lights,” at Lima Senior High School’s Joe Bowers Field. Families enjoyed popcorn while reading classic children’s books and engaging in activities focused on sight words, grammar, and parts of speech. The evening featured games for children to play and run around the field. Two senior students, Sha’Ann Guice and Kamarrah Jackson, highlighted the importance of active engagement in learning outside the classroom. Additionally, the Imagination Library helped kids sign up for library cards, and the Spartan Ride provided free books for children to choose from.
