‘They’re all our Kids’: Child Wellness Campus Close to Opening in Cleveland; a Plea for Community’s Help

CLEVELAND, Ohio-Cuyahoga County is seeking community support to address a critical placement and emergency services crisis for children with severe needs. County Executive Chris Ronayne highlighted the urgent need to improve facilities for these children, noting a loss of 300 residential treatment beds over the past decade. The county’s response includes the Child Wellness Campus, an initiative launched in December 2023 in partnership with The Centers and the Cleveland Christian Home. This project aims to provide a dedicated space for children’s care and is seen as a model for other regions. The first step, T-Suites, opened at the Cleveland Christian Home in early 2023, offering eight emergency beds for children in county custody. This effort is part of a broader strategy to improve conditions and support for vulnerable youth.
