CLEVELAND, Ohio-Earlier this year, Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD) leaders proposed consolidating all schools to the same calendar to save money, as the district currently operates with five different schedules. These varying calendars include differences in school days and years. However, concerns from parents and educators led the district to delay any changes and conduct further research. CMSD is now gathering feedback through surveys, focus groups, and analyzing student performance data across schools with different calendars. CEO Warren Morgan acknowledged the significant feedback received and emphasized that further study is needed before making any decisions.
