With forecasted high temperatures expected to break 90 degrees this weekend, the city of Akron announced it will provide a cooling center to give residents in need a break from the heat. The city will extend hours at the Summit Lake Community Center and be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, June 22; Monday, June 23; and Tuesday, June 24. The community center is located at 380 W. Crosier St.
