Your Pediatrician Might Be the First to Test Your Child’s Reading — And It’s Starting at Age 3

In Columbus, Ohio, the first sign of a reading struggle may show up not in a kindergarten classroom, but in a pediatric exam room. As literacy rates slip nationwide, Nationwide Children’s Hospital has begun screening 3-year-olds for early reading skills during routine checkups.
