Pickerington Schools Superintendent Announces Retirement at Monday Meeting

PICKERINGTON, Ohio-Chris Briggs, superintendent of Pickerington Local Schools, announced his retirement after seven years leading the district. His resignation, effective January 31, 2025, was disclosed during a board meeting where he expressed gratitude for the support of the board, staff, students, and community during his tenure. Briggs highlighted his confidence in the district’s current leadership team and pledged to assist in the search for his successor. Board members expressed sadness at his departure but praised his impactful leadership and contributions to the district over the years. Before Pickerington, Briggs held various educational roles, including superintendent at Northridge Local School District and principal positions. He holds a doctorate in organizational leadership, a master’s in educational administration, and bachelor’s degrees in education and special education.
