April 3rd, 2024-CLEVELAND, Ohio-Two children, 9-year-old Da’Shone McCray and 16-year-old Iona McCray, tragically died in a crash on I-90 in Cleveland involving a Kimble trash truck. The incident occurred near West 98th Street around noon on Monday. Cleveland police have not disclosed the cause or the number of vehicles involved. The Ohio Department of Transportation provided traffic camera footage preceding the crash.
A witness reported the victims being rear-ended by the garbage truck. Three others were injured and taken to MetroHealth Medical Center. Prior to this incident, Kimble trucks had been involved in 15 crashes in 2024, according to Ohio Department of Public Safety records. Kimble released a statement expressing condolences and stating cooperation with authorities for the investigation.
