ROCKY RIVER, Ohio-During a weeklong human trafficking crackdown led by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, 160 people were arrested, including individuals in positions of trust. Among those arrested was Michael Schnurr, a 32-year-old mathematics teacher from Brook Park, charged with engaging in prostitution.
Schnurr was the lead math instructor at Mathnasium Rocky River. Additionally, John Zitzner, co-founder of Breakthrough Charter Schools, was arrested and charged with engaging in prostitution. The initiative, dubbed “Operation Buyer’s Remorse,” targeted the demand for prostitution. Among those arrested were individuals from various backgrounds, including educators, retirees, and professionals. The crackdown highlights the importance of targeting buyers to combat human trafficking, as emphasized by James Schultz, chief of the Willoughby Police Department.
