Avon Lake High School Musicians Set to Perform Vivaldi’s ‘Gloria’

AVON, Ohio-Avon Lake High School is hosting a grand orchestral performance of Vivaldi’s “Gloria,” featuring a full orchestra, school chorus, and harpsichord. The concert, scheduled for May 23 at 7:30 p.m., promises a mesmerizing musical experience. General admission tickets are priced at $5. Emilio Jarufe, the school’s choral director, highlights the significance of this performance, with 154 singers participating, showcasing their hard work since February.

The concert includes all 12 movements of “Gloria” and the renowned “Four Seasons.” Jarufe praises Vivaldi’s masterpiece for its unique composition and positive message supporting female empowerment. The school district’s support for music education is credited for nurturing students’ musical talents, with a strong tradition of musical productions dating back to the 1950s. This event celebrates the school’s rich musical heritage and the community’s appreciation for the arts.
